HISTORY

hall_vintageConstructed as the flagship headquarters for Martins Bank, the building was designed in the neo classical revival style by the famous Liverpool Architect, Herbert J Rowse, who was also the architect of India Buildings and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The building was used during World War II to store the nation's gold deposits, the gold being discreetly unloaded into the vaults by dock workers.
